Oklahoma City, OK (September 21, 2016) – Oklahoma City-based International Pipe & Supply, LLC, a family-owned and operated company with decades of steel pipe distribution experience, celebrated Al Karchmer’s 96th birthday with a party on Wednesday, 9/21/2016. Mr. Karchmer, the oldest known steel pipe distributor in the United States, was greeted at his party by company associates, family members, close friends, and business partners.
Mr. Karchmer started International Pipe & Supply, LLC in the 1970’s at the age of 56. Through hard work, perseverance, and a dedication to his associates, Al successfully grew International Pipe & Supply, LLC to a well-respected steel pipe distributor that ships pipe domestically and internationally. Don Karchmer, Al’s son and the president/COO of International Pipe & Supply, LLC had this to say to Al, “They say that wisdom comes with age. Today, for me, you have to be the wisest man I know.” Al quickly replied, “You don’t know many people, do you?”
At 96 years old, Mr. Karchmer – a hard-working family man who still comes to the office five days a week – is actively involved in daily operations and sales at International Pipe & Supply, LLC.
