It is true that working with metal is very interesting. After the heat turns up, welders can transform a few strongest materials into various products they imagine. You have to practice and work to achieve such a skill. If you want to learn the skill, then you should take advice and guidance from industry professionals.

The welders should take the proper training to understand a few things like pipe fabrication and welding. They have to make sure that the welds are secure and safe. There are mainly four main welding procedures that the welders have to learn. If you want to get quality welds for your business, then contact professional steel pipe fabricators.

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

In this process, the welder uses a fixed consumable tungsten electrode for producing the weld. Non-ferrous metals or stainless steels are welded together in this procedure and it is one of the most common processes. But keep in mind that this process takes more time compared to Stick, Flux Cored and MIG Arc Welding. The welders should take care while identifying the composition of the base metal because the melting point of non-ferrous metals varies notably.

Keep in mind that steel and stainless steel both contain iron. But the metal has to contain 11% Chromium in order to be Stainless Steel. The presence of chromium narrows the temperature range to the 2,750+/- degree F mark in stainless steel.

Arc Welding

This welding process is the most common type that welders have to learn first. This procedure generally contains a power supply that creates an electric arc with which to weld. A welder simply needs a welding gun with an electrode in order to continue the process. The welding gun also contains a wire which the welder heats until it melts. After that, the steel pipe fabricators apply the melted metal to the connection point of the pipes to create the welds. They can use both direct current and alternative. Moreover, there are also various types of electrodes that are used for different types of welding.

Oxy-Acetylene Welding and Cutting

This is the only type of welding where the welders do not create an electrical arc to weld. The experts need acetylene and oxygen and two gases to create a flame so that it can melt the steel. After that, the experts apply the flame to the steel to create a long-lasting weld. Next, they add an additional filler rod to the welding area if required. The specialist can also continue the process without even using a welding machine. They can use a torch that is attached to the acetylene and oxygen by using the gas hoses and a regulator.
